Missing Ben

It seams that when your a young mother with many children in the house its kayos most of the time. But as time goes on and as each child leaves home, a part of your heart goes with them. you pray for their safety, their happiness, you pray they will learn the lessons that they need to know, that you could not teach them while they were living at home. The lessons that only living life can teach them. And you pray that they will remember the basics that you have taught them so they can make it through those life lessons somewhat unscathed and that they will keep with them always, the love, morals & integrity that you’ve tried so hard to teach them in their youth.

All of my older children have done pretty well for themselves. each has made mistakes and each has had great success at times. Some times we’ve had to help them out with money or going and getting them out of a predicament they’ve gotten themselves into. Or just helped them when life has become so overwhelming that it takes all of us to get through it. Now it’s my youngest child's turn, And after having 4 others move out and get on with life. I have learned a few things. One; mom can’t fix everything, Two; mom shouldn’t fix everything, they never learn the lessons they need to learn if I do. Three'; it doesn’t matter which child it is that has moved out,you will always worry about them. Four; it doesn’t matter how old they are you still worry about them at times.

But now it’s my youngest, he has chosen a different path all together  than his siblings. He is a Army National Guardsmen and he is at Basic Training right now at FT Sill Oklahoma. I know he is well taken care of. and I know that he knows how to obey his commanding officers so he shouldn’t get in much trouble, I know he is safe for  now. I also know he is away from home, in a foreign atmosphere, working his heart out learning to be a solder. I know he misses home, his family, his girl friend and all the things that are familiar to him.  So I worry. I pray every day that God helps him through the day. And then I pray every night that God watches over him at night, that he doesn’t feel alone, that he knows that in my heart I am right there with him. lending him my strength, my faith, and anything else he may need at any given moment. That’s what a mother does. But most of all I am trusting him to our Heavenly Father. I can’t be there to watch over him, but God can, I can’t give him strength, but God can, I can’t pick him up when he’s down, but God can. I know I can trust each of my kids to God and he can work miracles in their lives. And that is how I get through each day letting my children leave the nest and make their own way in the world.

I miss you Ben. I miss your smile and your smart alick comments that make me laugh, I miss your great big bear hugs, I miss hearing you play your violin, your guitar & your trombone. I miss our talks.

I Just miss YOU.

My nephew Bradley and his family came for a Visit.

I’m nearly caught up, Hooray.  Last week was a good week. My oldest nephew Bradley and his family came to lave to spend the week, visit with family and go to the pool and float the river. So on Monday I put together a little family reunion, we haven’t seen Brad since his Brother David’s funeral. As of lately we have been keeping in touch through Face Book. but it’s just not the same as sitting down and visiting with someone. So on Monday all the family was invited to come up to the house and have a picnic of sorts. I made mom’s fried chicken, and I also made barbecued chicken, and a Large chocolate cake. I asked everyone else to bring some kind of salad or desert. oh and I made my homemade dinner rolls .  Needless to say we had plenty of food. About half the family was able to come, Marilyenn & David  and 3 of their kids with families made it, all of my kids were here except for Matt who had to work and Ben who is at Basic Training right now. Alan & Judy were here,Kathy’s Brian came and brought his boy Kaydin, and Brad and Debbie were here with their three boys.  Kathy came up the night before and spent the night with us and helped me with the chicken and made some deserts , Kathy and I also had time to go for a ride up over the canyon and then over to Grace to a antique shop that’s over there. I think she loved the ride, she had me stop several times so she could take pictures over by the Beaver Dam RD. That evening we had a nice family visit and took some pictures of the event.  I am so glad I have a large yard to be able to bring the family together. and the energy to do it. We missed Gary's kids, Shannon , Shane and Melissa and their families and of course we missed Gary. but all through that day I had the strongest feeling that Mom and Dad and Gary , Drew and Gabe were there with us. there were times I felt their spirits so close to me. especially Mom and Daddy. I think they were very pleased.

Gabriel’s Angelversery

On Tuesday it was the 1st angelversery for our little Gabie who we miss so much. so Amy and David planed a family picnic for their family up by his headstone at the cemetery, and then asked if anyone of the rest of the family would like to join them for a balloon launch with messages to Gabe. so I and Stacy and the boys and  Malinda Saville and her kids and Gary and Colleen Saville all went up to the cemetery and wrote notes to Gabe on balloons and then let them go. I was a little worried about Amy and David and how they would handle this day, but they did great. So here are the pictures of Gabie’s day. Love and miss you Gabriel Grant Saville.

Wednesday was a calm morning I was so tired from the previous days that I slept in. then got up and headed for the Family History Center since that was my day to be there and help other people with their family history, but I had the strongest thought that I was not going where i should be going, the thought said. Your nephew is in the campground in Lave and that’s where you should be. so I went to the Family History Center gave my workers the keys and left. I spent the rest of that afternoon with Brad and his Family laughing talking and taking pictures of them tubing. it was fun and I felt so good about spending that time with them.  I am so grateful for the whisperings of the spirit to guide and direct me. It was like Heavenly Father was giving me the day off to spend it with my family.  Then Thursday Brad and Debbie left and headed for bear lake. and I, Well Thursday and Friday I pretty much just vegged out. which was ok . because it had been a busy week.

The 4th of July and our anniversary on the 7th of July.

Just didn’t want to leave these two important dates out, so on the 4th of July we worked in the fields and in the yard together, and went for a small 4 wheeler ride. on the 7th, our anniversary, Grant went to work as usual. I stayed home and worked around the house and yard as usual and then we went to dinner at the Chuck wagon cafe. Then we came home and went to bed. you know, sometimes it nice not to make a big dill out of every holiday. sometimes it’s just nice being together working or just sitting in the quiet watching a TV show. Does that sound old. well then I guess we’re old.

Gary Roger Easter.

With every moment of Joy and Happiness we must realize that we will probably have more or less, equal moments of sorrow, life has been crazily busy with good things in my life. to name a few just check my last posts. But we’ve also had our moments of sorrow and heart ach.  First let me say, I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for the times I had with my brother Gary this last few months we were able to go visit him and go for a ride up Ogden Canyon, that was a nice day, we had Easter weekend with him, that was a nice time, and then he and most of his family came up and we had a family dinner together that was wonderful. here are pictures of that day.

I am so thankful for these days, and even though this may sound strange I am thankful that Gary didn’t have to suffer terribly. On Wednesday June 15th I got a call from my dear niece telling me she had found her dad in bed unresponsive, and they were rushing him in an ambulance to the hospital. I finished up what I had to get done and Grant and I and Ben and my brother Alan drove to Davis County hospital in UT. There Gary had on a oxygen mask that was pushing oxygen into his lungs. This was done so that his son could possible have a chance to get there before Gary left us.  There were no guarantees but it was all we could do. I am so thankful that we were able to stay the night with my brother and comfort him as much as we could and allow his kids to take their kids home and still know that someone who loved Gary was with him. As time passed Gary stayed with us through the night and into the next day. but he had a more important job to do and left us just before our Shane was able to get there and say goodbye to his dad. Now I want it understood. that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Gary heard his sons goodbye. I know his spirit was in that room with us and his body to hear our cry’s and goodbyes. And I know he loves us for them.

Gary Roger Easter was born on July 31 1948 and  died on June 16th 2011  he was a kind loving brother. who spoiled me as a child.  Gary’s funeral was beautiful the kids did a great job. and the military rights were so impressive. Gary would have been proud.

Side note, the day we buried my brother my son Benjamin F. Egley left for Basic training in the Army National Guard. needless to say it was a very hard day for me.

Another Side note. the same day we buried Gary my dear sweet sister Marilyenn and her husband David Miles found out that David has 4th stage colon and liver cancer he went into surgery that Friday where they removed part of his colon he will soon start Chemo Therapy. Let’s just say it was a really crummy week. but I know God is mindful of us and will never leave us alone when we need him.

Ben is made an Elder, Amy is getting ready to move & Bryan’s Blessing.

June was a very busy month. it had lots of good things and some really hard things in it. After Paytin was born I spent several days trying to help Amy pack up her house and put it in a storage unit because they had gotten some people who were interested in renting the house for a year – 18 months. so Amy was in the middle of getting packed. we were also keeping Audrina as much as we could to help Jared and Sativa so they could spend as much time with Paytin as possible.  I think Amy did most of the watching of Audrina and I only helped with the packing towards the end of the month for the most part.  You see my brother Gary was dyeing of lung cancer and was having some very bad days.  Oh I may not be explaining all of this very well. but let’s just say it was an emotional month. Also Ben was getting ready to leave for Basic Training in the Army National Guard.

Ben is made an Elder.

On the 12 of June We went to church with Ben & Amy and David’s family, since Ben was living with Amy and David. Ben was made an Elder that day. I was and still am so proud of him.  I know he will hold his priesthood sacred I wish I had a picture to put in here to mark the occasion. but I don’t. it was a very special day. Not only did we have our family together for the occasion Ben’s priest quorum ( Randy Banglen his leader, Gary and Dalen Davids, Justin Casperson, Taylor Kerny, Chyler Bullock,& Dillon Davids.) drove in to be with him and so did Bishop Spitzer. Then we all went back to Amy’s for dinner. It was nice to have all the guys together again one last time before they all went their separate ways.

Bryan’s Blessing Day

The next weekend on the 18th of June was little Bryan’s blessing. Matt and Alice chose this day to have Bryans blessing so Ben could stand in on the blessing as an Elder before he had to leave for Basic. it was a good day grandpa Grant Egley gave Bryan his blessing with Matt and Alice’s bishop standing in and with Chet, David and Ben also in the circle.  The blessing was done up Trail Creek in a cabin and not at church so Alice’s family would feel comfortable which is ok, Many baby’s are blessed at home or other places if there is a need. After the blessing we had a cook out and the men went 4 wheeler riding up the canyon.

Ben and Jones Core. friends since 8th grade.

After graduation the kids had an all night party to go to put on by the parents counsel. so here are some pictures of the all night party. I was there as a chaperone and to feed the kids.

The all night party was great. there were lots of things for the kids to do and I even got to get in on some of the fun with Ben. They had Bull riding, a bungee  run, Sumo wrestling. and the Gyro wheel. They also had a hypnoses person come and hypnotize some of the kids. It was pretty funny.  The picture of all the kids around the Bull is all the kids that graduated and went to school together for most of their lives. we were only missing one boy, who we couldn’t find to get him in the picture.

Paytin Ann Rae Egley

Here’s our next big news. On June 2nd our newest member of the family arrived. She was so tiny she only weighed 4lb 5oz. for an Egley baby that’s tiny. I am used to 8-10lb babies.  her mom Sativa did very well and Jared also did very well. Paytin delivered sooner than anyone expected her to.

The whole time at the end that the Drs thought Sativa was having contractions she was actually pushing Paytin out. when the Dr came to check her he was surprised to see a head and then Paytin just came right on out. She is adorable. she has long blond hair like her daddy in fact she looks a lot like her dad but also looks like her mom. Paytin stayed, I think about 15 days in the nicu before she could come home. but now she weighs over 6 lb’s and is doing great. Little Audrina loves her baby sister so much, as do we all.

Speaking of our Audrina. we discovered that she had a broken arm. We don’t know how it happened,  Her biological father said she did fall down while he had her a few days before Paytin was born so that may have been when it happened but we really don’t know. But every once in a while she would say her arm hurt. we didn’t notice it until it started swelling.  Jared and Sativa were so busy going to the hospital every day so Amy and I took Audrina to the Dr and had her arm x-rayed. sure enough it was broken, So Jared and Sativa took her to a specialist and had it casted. 100_3406

Audrina has been a real trooper about the cast. she is such a tuff, sweet little darling.

Catching up

Well it’s been since May 18th I believe since I have posted anything. so now I am sooooo very much behind. I have some big things I need to enter and some not so big things to enter. the trouble with catching up is after so much time has gone by it’s hard to remember the little things. but I will try and do my best.

So one thing I don’t want to forget to enter is our little trips here and there.  Our first little trip after we got the new car was to go to Jackson Hole Wyoming for breakfast. that was a nice drive. and breakfast as always was really good at the Jackson Steakhouse. then we decided to head up over Hoback Junction, we had never went over Hoback and thought it would be a nice drive.  Well going up to the top was beautiful but the other side. well let’s just say THERES NOTHING THERE. Except for sagebrush, dirt, sagebrush, dirt etc. etc. here’s a couple of pictures to prove my point.R1-07790-024A (Medium)  R1-07790-022A (Medium)R1-07790-023A (Medium)

oh and an antelope here and there. So we headed for Fort Bridger. We went through Rock Springs WY. and then down along Flaming George which someone at Grants work said was beautiful. We must have missed the beautiful part cause all i saw was a little water, sagebrush , dirt, etc, etc. The area just before you get to Fort Bridger is nice. you finally see some green fields and such. When Grant and I got to the Fort. we got out and walked around and talked to the museum workers there.  They were very kind and informative. and I enjoyed taking pictures of the fort.  As you can see.

After we left the fort we went west on I-80 and then went on I-84 over to Ogden UT. I loved the red rocks on I-80 they were beautiful.

Then after we got to Ogden, we headed up I-15 to Brigham and then went over Sardine through Logan UT. Stopped to say hi to Chet and Stacy in Weston ID and then went home. all in all we figured we drove about 600 miles that day. It was just a nice little drive.
