So today was my pay back day I think, Our tractor needed all the hydraulic oil changed and the fuel filters changed. So I have now learned a little more mechanics. LOL. he's one handed and I am one legged, so we make quite a pair. We had 3 5 gallon buckets of fluid to put in the tractor. so we devised a plan for him to hold the funnel while I pored the fluid from the 5 gallon bucket to a couple of one gallon jugs then he climbed into the tractor and I handed up the gallon jugs up to him. It took most of the afternoon but we got it all done. That's pretty sad to say it took all afternoon to change the oil in a tractor but it did and actually even though my knee is pretty sore, it was a nice afternoon with my hubby because we were able to laugh at ourselves and when I got off balance he steadied me and when he couldn't turn bolts I turned them for him. But I am glad Matt got off work when he did. I can just imagine what kind of a mess we would have made climbing on top of the house to clean the chimney out.
Thanks Matt Egley for taking care of the rest of our chores that needed done and Thanks Jared Egley for calling me back to see if we needed something.
Debie and Grant Egleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908414583161578397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868849925712714514.post-42392710361173265982013-11-12T23:42:00.001-08:002013-11-12T23:58:35.695-08:00Priesthood Blessings
Blessing I want to remember.
November 12th 2013
Two weeks ago on Saturday the 2nd of November Our Grandson Justin got to be baptized and I am so happy for him and proud he made that choice I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Laterday saints is Christ’s church just like it was at the time he walked upon the earth with all of it’s doctrines and blessings restored to the earth. Justin, Grandma and Grandpa are very proud of you and love you very much.

At the first of the week I had had words with one of my sons over the computer and some of his work. I was upset all week over it. and did a great deal of praying but just couldn’t feel peace towards him, I just kept asking the lord what can I say or do that will get through to him. So Saturday when we were getting ready to go to Justin’s baptism and conformation where all the family would be I didn’t want to have bad feelings between myself and my son. I was really struggling with even seeing my son that day, which in its self was very upsetting to me. He has always been one of my best friends and this issue was coming between us and I hated that. So I asked Grant if I was wrong to have said what I said to our son, he assured me I was not. so then I asked Grant to first say a prayer for us and then to give me a blessing.
He was glad to do so and immediately knelt down to pray and then proceeded to give me a blessing. It was a short blessing but a firm blessing; and after wards I began to feel better about things. The Lord blessed me 4 times in the blessing to be physically and mentally and spiritually strong. That I had a mission to fulfill and that I would be strong physically, mentally and spiritually and to go forward with determination... That if I would go forward standing for what was right and serve those who will need my care with determination The Lord would bless me to be physically and mentally and spiritually strong and that my children would see and learn from my example and see the error of their ways and become strong in the Gospel. They would learn and follow my example and serve the Lord honorably and faithfully.
I was kind of hoping the Lord would say it would be ok and I guess in a way he did but I guess I was hoping for a (Good Job you’ve done your job now I will fix it). But that’s not what I got. I kind of felt like he was saying, (Toughen up Butter Cup). If you continue being the mom you are and let me make you stronger and learn to continue teaching truth and stand up for what’s right in all things even if you get a lot of flak from them or anyone else and continue to be determined to teach and lead and stand for truth, then your kids will eventually come around. I guess that’s were (Enduring to the End) comes in.
Monday the 11th of November 2013
Grant and I went to see a surgeon about Grant’s shoulder, it has been hurting him for around 2 years and now it has gotten so he can’t even raise his arm up if it’s strait in front of him. So the Dr did the exam and then told us that the surgery needed to be done right away. He has 4 things wrong with his shoulder that need fixing. It will be an outpatient surgery so he will be in and out the same day, that was the good news. Then he said Grant would be in a sling for 3 months and then have therapy and maybe return to work in 4 – 6 months. Grant and I just looked at each other with disbelief. We were prepared for him to be off work for about 3 months but 6? We felt we had been hit with a ton of bricks. How would we make it for 6 months and pay our bills? But it needs to be done so we decided to move ahead and schedule the surgery. So day after tomorrow on the 14th he is going to have surgery. It’s a good thing; I truly feel that it is. It is what he needs to have done and this is the time to have it done, I know that. I have just been worried about how to pay the bills. We did some calling to see if we had any disability insurance on our loans but we don’t. But it sounds like they would be willing to work with us somehow. Grant does have long term disability through work so we will get some of his paycheck hopefully it will be enough for us to get by on. So the next thing I felt we needed was to call our home teacher who is also our bishop Lynn Stewart. He is an awesome home teacher and bishop and we love him very much. He and his 2nd counselor John McCracken came up and gave both of us a blessing. I know Bishop was very in tune to the spirit and he was listening for what the Lord had to say. In Grant’s blessing he blessed him that his body would respond to the surgery and heal well and be strong. he blessed him that he would have patients and allow his body to heal. he told him that he had missions to fulfill and that he would be able to fulfill them. And this is the one that really touched my heart. He blessed him that he would be able to communicate with people and give advice and know how to guide and direct others and his children that he would communicate with them and give advice and that they would respect and fallow his advice. This was so touching to me because Grant has never felt that he had the ability to guide and say the right thing, talking, in his mind has never been a strong point. But now the Lord has verbally blessed him with that gift if he will have faith and use it. I know that this blessing has to do with more than just this surgery and healing time I think it is a permanent blessing for the future.
As for my blessing Bishop blessed me to be in tune to those around me and their needs and that I should fill those needs. He blessed me as a wife to be sensitive to Grant’s needs. I always thought I was but maybe I am not as good at that as I should be. He blessed me as a mother that I would be able to serve my family and be uplifting to them and that there would be others who would need my service and sensitivity. He also blessed me that my health would be adequate to do the things I needed to do. and that my body would be made strong to fulfill the things I was sent to do. The one thing that really surprised me was that he said (the Lord was concerned that I was worried. That I should have faith and not worry, and believe everything would work out) I have never thought of the Lord as being concerned that I was worried. I guess I just figured that the Lord knows everything so he wouldn’t be concerned about anything or at least that he would be concerned about me. I still feel startled by his wording of (the Lord was concerned that I was worried) I am going to have to do some thinking and praying about it. I guess I have been feeling a little overwhelmed with everything that has been going on in my life lately, Helping Marilyenn get off on her mission, babysitting for the kids. Worrying about Chet and Stacy and trying to help my kids understand what’s coming in the future. I do worry that they will not be ready for what’s coming. I feel we are closer to the second coming than they think. I see the sings and I feel the time is right upon us. I could be wrong but I don’t feel that I am. I am seeing dreams that I have had coming true weekly. I have been trying to get more food storage and medicinal storage built up and now with this surgery I won’t be able to continue to build up like I would like to. But then I guess that’s what he meant by the Lord was concerned that I was worried. I need to stop worrying and just have faith and go with whatever the Lord will have me do. Oh and he also blessed me that I would be able to look around and find solutions to problems that may arise. What an awesome blessing. Now if I can find it in myself to do all the Lord has directed. That seems to be the hard part for me. I am feeling so tired from all the things that have been asked of me and yet I have the feeling that a great deal more is going to be asked so I pray the Lord to right my thinking of self pity and help me find the strength to push on and endure until the end.

When night is at it deepest and things are dark and dim then the sun comes up and warms the soul within.
Debie and Grant Egleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908414583161578397noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868849925712714514.post-15873531081466903762013-10-28T01:04:00.001-07:002013-10-28T01:05:23.667-07:00Blessed by angles of service
I want to make sure I put this little post in my blog,

Friday morning the 25th of October could have been a very annoying day. I had lot’s of things i needed to get done, one of which was going to town and getting my shopping done. I am not the biggest fan of shopping unless it’s in one of my favorite stores ( TJ Max, Deseret Book, Real Deals) you know, fun stores. But for me grocery shopping is not and never has been fun. Maybe it’s because I don’t love to cook, I can cook and very well when I want to, I just don’t usually want to, I just make myself face the fact that I have to. So that means that I have to go grocery shopping as well. Anyway I started out my day by picking up Little Paytin, I had told Christie and Jared that I would watch her for the day until one of them got off work. She was a joy to have with me. I was going to take her with me to get the shopping done but then decided that this grandma was to old and tired to take a 2 year old shopping, especially when it was shopping I hated to do. I decided that I would do myself and her a favor by staying home and getting some things done around the house and just play with Paytin. It was a good choice, took lot’s of stress off of me. So Paytin and I did dishes cleaned counters organized things and I cleaned up a few of Paytin’s messes. 2 year olds are infamous for messes. We also visited Alice and Bryan and LeeAnn. then around 2.30 Jared came and picked her up. After they left, I called Grant to find out how the sell was going as he had taken the calves to the sell so we can pay farm bills with the money. Anyway he said he would not be home for quit a while so I decided I would go ahead and run to Pocatello and get it over with. When I got to Pocatello I dropped some bags of stuff off to Deseret Industry’s and then tried to hurry and wash the car at the car wash, get gas and return some Journals that Brother Phil Craig had bought for the Garden Creek ward Activity Day girls who had come to the Family History Center to learn about Family History. That, by the way turned out to be a great activity. Brother Craig was generous enough to go and pick up nice small journals for the girls with his own money which was very generous of him to do. we had less girls than I had anticipated so the remaining journals needed to be returned so I said I would do that for him. As I said Deseret Book is one of my all time favorite stores so it was nice to browse there and pick up a few sale items. then I only had one errand left. so to Winco I went. I got all the immediate groceries we needed for the next two weeks and picked up some great sales for my food storage, flour, canned corn, and cream of mushroom soup. I made it to the check out line and got all the groceries check out and remembered that I had a $10.00 off coupon with a perches of $50.00 or more. I defiantly had more than $ 50.00s in groceries. In fact I had $319.00 in groceries. Groceries are getting very expensive. At that point seeing my coupon, the couple behind me remembered they also had a coupon and commented on how glad she the lady was that she had seen my coupon since it reminded her to use hers. as we sacked our foods, her on one side of the counter and me on the other we struck up a conversation. And then they fallowed me out of the store. Now I was already a little stressed about the cost of the food and since I went to town later I was getting home later which for some reason always stresses me out. I don’t like driving home by my self after dark, I’m not afraid to I just don’t like to. Any way I had a very large cart of food with case lot’s stacked under the main part of the cart on the bottom rack. Well as I went over the rumble strip that Winco has just outside the doors my case of cream of mushroom soup decided to fall off the card and then the flimsy cardboard flat that the cans were in broke and my soup went in all directions all over the parking lot in front of the store, and of course there was a down ward slope so they rolled really fast. As I started to pick up my soup that didn’t roll so far my cart started to roll away down the slope. It was a mess. Car’s were stopping to keep from driving over my runaway soup cans. I WAS IN A MESS. But this couple, ( Vickie and Mario Santiago) were right there, Vickie immediately started running after my wayward soup cans and Mario grabbed my cart to keep it from running away into oncoming traffic. I was just stunned and thinking WHAT A MESS. as I was picking up cans, Vickie was picking up cans and as I looked up people came from all over the parking lot bringing me my wayward soup cans. I was surprised to see so many good and kind people who in all reality could have pocketed my soup but didn’t . Or they could have just ignored my dilemma and went on in the store to do their shopping. After all the soup was accounted fore, Mario insisted on helping me to my car with my large amount of groceries and his wife carried my case of soup holding it at both ends so it couldn’t break open again. Mario and Vickie both offered to help me load my food into the car but i declined and told them thank you so much for what they had done to help me. I started to load my groceries into my car when Mario noticed that I hadn’t put my purse in the car first. He then picked it up out of the cart and handed it to me and suggested I put it in the car first. He said his mother had had her purse stolen because she had her back turned to the cart and someone came by and grabbed her purse and he didn’t want to see that happen to me. I didn’t know any of the people who helped me that night and yet they all did a simple act of kindness by making sure I had all my soup. And as for Vickie and Mario, they truly were Angels of service to me. All of their actions took all the stress out of my situation and I just wanted to thank Heavenly Father for these kind people. Instead of driving home thinking about how I was going to have to unload all the food in the dark and cold, and how much it cost. I drove home excited to tell Grant about my runaway soup and the Angles who helped me.
Debie and Grant Egleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908414583161578397noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868849925712714514.post-91935695527299279122013-10-22T13:33:00.001-07:002013-10-22T13:33:48.297-07:00Music brightens the soul and Father in Heaven loves and understands me.
I am feeling a little more chipper today. I’ve been listening to ( The Piano Guy’s) today, and I have read a lot of quotes from our Prophet and apostles these past few days. And I have read in my scriptures and am feeling less abused and discouraged. As a matter of fact, I have been reminded that it doesn’t matter what anyone thinks of me or what I believe, as long as Heavenly Father approves of what I do, and what I read and how I feel. and he has given me much love these past few days. I just had a long talk with one of my children and it was good. We have a better understanding of each others feelings now, and that is always good. I even got my violin out and started practicing that again. The only problem with that is I need new strings as I have left off my practicing for about a year and the string didn’t stand up to being tuned and I snapped my A string. But I called Ben and he said he would help me replace the string and help me get it tuned. He’s smart that way. Life is calming down a little now that canning season is over and I know this may sound weird but I am at a lose to know what to do with myself now. There are lots of things to be done, I just can’t settle into any one thing and so I am not getting much accomplished. So now it’s time to take myself in hand and focus on one thing to be done and do it then go on to another until I am back up to speed getting things done. I have also decided that I need to give myself time to improve me. work on a talent, read good books that will help me grow and learn. And yes give service to others. I focus on service a great deal and think a lot about how I can help my kids or other members of my family and that is a great thing. But I have discovered that my well is getting empty or very low, so I need to be sure and give myself some grow time as well.

Well that’s where I am ending for today. On a good note.
Debie and Grant Egleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908414583161578397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868849925712714514.post-54053709724112180702013-10-21T14:34:00.001-07:002013-10-21T14:34:08.891-07:00I’m beyond catching up, so I am writing this for my own peace of mind.
Two much time has passed for me to truly catch up I may try or I may not it doesn’t matter. For now let’s just say I am feeling very misunderstood by those who should truly know me best. when I try to give word’s of warning and share true knowledge, I am considered Fanatical, I feel that they want my help when they want it but they don’t want to hear what I really have to share. I am worrying to much in their eyes, but I am not worrying, I am simply sounding a voice of warning they can take it or leave it, I’d like to say I don’t care, but I do care. more than they will ever know. I want know comments from anyone on this post. Just feeling tired, disappointed and unappreciated. Many things have brought these feelings on, and I’ll get over them but I just need to voice my feelings and like I said, I want no comments. I know what I know and I feel what I feel. If those who I share my feelings with think I am over reacting so be it. they are on their own. I can’t bring life to a dead horse and I don’t have the strength to drag it to someone who can, so I will let it lye and go on about my own business. Life is full of disappointments and struggles. and it’s going to be full of a great deal more. And it’s going to be full of some very glorious things as well. I pray we make it through the rough times to partake of the glorious once.
Debie and Grant Egleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908414583161578397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868849925712714514.post-37352739123484528872012-04-03T11:42:00.001-07:002012-04-03T11:49:38.303-07:00Bradley Eugene Thomsen, 17 Sep 1965 - 6 March 2012

It seams that lately I am always and forever catching up. I hate catching up with life. whether it is in here in my blog or in real life. The world is speeding on and I feel too slow to keep up. There are so many things that have happened in this past year. and here we are in a new year. And I am still behind. I try to use my time wisely although I do sleep in most days because I am so tired. but let me tell you what has been going on for the past few months and maybe you and I can not judge me to harshly. Let’s see the last post I made was about two great men. Now I need to add another great Man to my list of loved ones who have gone on to the other side of the vale. On March 6th 2012 I said good by to my sweet nephew Bradley Eugene Thomsen. He was an awesome man who even though he was only 5 years younger than I was. He was someone who I truly looked up to. Brad fought so many battles for his health in his life, beginning with the day he was born, He and his mother almost died, had it not been for my moms close watch over Kathy, Brads mom she would have bleed to death and Bradley would never have been born into this world. Through out the years he had his typical years of scrapes and bruises and was almost killed several times. He served in the US Navy for many years. and then went to school to become an airplane mechanic. Then he met his sweet wife Debbie Hall, They married and started a family. with first Benjamin, then came Mason, then Colby. they are great boys. Brad can be very proud of them. Brads Kidneys started shutting down about the time they started their family , There was little the Drs could do and so Bradley went on dialyses until a donor kidney could be found, when one was found they put him on anti rejection medicine so his body would keep the kidney. It worked very well but it had a catch, one of the side effects was that it could cause throat cancer. several years later it did. and for the past 3 years Brad has been taking chemo treatments, radiation treatments and what ever else he could do so he could stay here on this earth and raise his boys. But that was not Gods plan for our Brad, So we said good by to him and now we will do what we can to support and help Debbie and their boys. It’s funny when Brad and i were little we were more like siblings than Aunt and nephew, we played together, irritated each other, fought, got in trouble together, and got out of trouble together. He gave me the mumps and his younger brother David who has also passed on gave me the measles, Then after I married we lived not fare from where Brads dad lived and Brad and David lived with their dad. Bryon lived with his mom and her new husband and new baby brother Nicholas Bowman. Many times they would come over to my house looking for cookies or to play with Amy or just wanting someone to let them know that they were loved. you see their Dad was an alcoholic and so was their step mom. She had a son named Joey and Brad would just bring them all over when his dad was at work and She was drinking. several nights they stayed on our front room floor and went to school from our house the next morning. and many times they just came to have cookies and milk and then would be off to do their chores or what ever boys do. But Bradley was always looking after his younger brothers, even his step brother Joey. who eventually became Brad, David’s and Bryon’s adopted brother. Joey still calls me the cookie Aunt. As Brad grew up and left home we grew apart. not seeing each other much, I should have made a greater effort to keep in touch with him but we were both busy with our own lives . And then last year they came up for a family trip. after all the cancer treatments it was difficult to talk with Brad. but we just enjoyed spending some time with each other. And getting to know each others kids. Mine all grown up and his still so young. Then he and Debbie made the decision to move to Idaho from Nevada, to be close to the family. Bradley new he was loosing his battle with cancer and wanted Deb and the boys to be close to his family where he felt they would have more support. I pray we can all fulfill his wishes. I will do my best. I miss you my Brad. I miss the time we could have had getting reacquainted. Your mom misses you so much and is so afraid of her life without you and David. She has us, me and aunt Marilyenn and her friends but being with out one of your children is so hard to bear much less having to give up two of you. We’ll see you again some day I know. And then maybe you and I can get reacquainted as adults.

The oldest and youngest grandkids of Fred and Dorothy Easter, Bradley Eugene Thomsen and Benjamin Fredrick Egley. Yes I’m still catching up.
As I have said this past fall has been crazy with many ups and some downs. I was looking through my blog posts last night and realized that I had not posted about losing Grants Cousin George DeeRay Egley. George passed away on September 8th 2011. he died of lung cancer, but he fought a great fight and lived much longer than anyone would have ever guessed. He accomplished a great deal while he was sick. and He gave us an example of enduring to the end well that we can all fallow. Carolynn is do very well. she is keeping busy, spending time with her family staying active in church and marching on without him.

David George Miles,

August 9, 1948- December 23, 2011

On the day we buried my brother Gary, Marilyenn and David Miles, my sister and brother in law found out that David had 4th stage colon cancer and liver cancer. That was a terrible blow to the family. They decided that they would try chemotherapy and what other medicines the Dr’s had to maybe help him but in the end it didn’t help. it only made him sick. I don’t believe it really did any good for him. It might have bought him a couple of month but I’m not sure the price he paid was worth it. He was sick all the time and lost a great deal of weight. but like I said maybe we would have lost him sooner had it not been for the med’s. Dave endured his medical treatments well. He always had a cheerful countenance, no matter that he was sick and suffering. He was able to spend time with his family and give them all the love and uplift he could. He kept close to his sweetheart Marilyenn as much as possible. The last time I saw Dave was the day before he passed when I left I said (I Love you big brother and he smiled at me from his bed and said Love you Deb.) I just want to say from the time that Dave came into our family, he truly was a big brother to me. Dave was good at so many things but the thing he was best at was loving people and making them feel of worth.<img style="border-right-width: 0px; display: inline; border-top-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px" title="July 11, 2011, family get together, in Lava. Still catching up on December 2011.
Benjamin and Samantha chose December 20th for their wedding day. It was a cold cold day but it was warm and peaceful inside the Temple. We arrived at the Temple at 10.30 am and they both took out their endowments and then they were sealed for Time and all Eternity. It was a very nice endowment session and the sealer just happened to be JaLaine’s ( Barry’s mom) cousins husband, brother Bagley. He did a wonderful job and I know that Bens grandparents were there in spirit to be with him on their special day. As a side note, I had several family history names who also took out their endowments that day with the help of the family members who attended the Temple that day. Ben and Sam share their day with several of my ancestors whose names we took to the Temple that day. Notice the cape that Sam is warring, Stacy made it and Sam’s dad paid for it. it was beautiful. For the reception we ( Sam, Kim, Sam’s mom, and I) created the centerpieces Sam’s aunt Lisa put together the backdrop it was a collaboration of my mind and Lisa and Stacy and Alice’s and Kim and who ever else worked on it. I decorated the cake with Alice’s help, I would have never gotten it done without her. Stacy provided the cookies for the reception, Amy and Samantha made the sweet breads. I bought the pirouette cookies and the hot chocolate. we also served water with lemons and limes floating in it for those who didn’t want hot chocolate. All of Bens nieces were the flower girls, Sam’s sister Kim was the Matron on Honor, and Bens brother Mathew was the groomsmen. All in all it came together and was a very nice evening

Reception Pictures by Chet Egley

View Full Album

Amy had the idea to replicate a photo I did when she got married just to see how things have changed. and here is the comparison. Clayton had Dr’s appointments on the 6th and the 7th and my car gets better gas mileage than Chet and Stay’s does so I am glad to drive them down there. Any way the Dr appointments went well and Clayton is doing just fine. Then on the 7th I drove Stacy back to Logan and dropped her off at her grandmas so she could go through the temple with her little brother Dustin Ashby. I took the boys home and picked up Justin and watched them for her until Chet got home form work. I spent the night with them and then I headed back down to Salt Lake because Jared and Sativa’s baby Paytin had a eye appointment with the eye Dr to get a exact diagnoses for why she couldn’t see properly. We learned that she was not totally blind as the Dr in Pocatello had told us and that she had Albinism which they could help a lot with Glasses and Therapy. That was great news. Then I had told Amy and David that I would stay with their kids and run Madison to her violin lessons that night as they had a work Christmas party they needed to go to. While I was waiting for Madison to finish with her lessons. Katie watched Isaac and Jenna and I went and took some photos of the lake. It is beautiful at night with all the lights shinning across the lake.

<img style="border:0px" alt="View Utah Lake. I had a Ward Christmas party to get ready to take pictures at and help decorate the church. I have recently been called as the second counselor in the Primary and we were in charge of the Christmas party. It was a fun party and our president Tiffany Unsworth wrote a awesome Nativity play for the primary to put on. The theme was Picture a Christmas. I wasn’t around much to help with the costumes and such but I did come up with the center pieces for the tables and the invitations and the posters to advertise.

View Full Album

Debie and Grant Egleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908414583161578397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868849925712714514.post-19641946225154966792012-01-17T16:31:00.001-08:002012-01-17T16:31:04.459-08:00Catching up November 2011, a Baptism a Blessing and Thanksgiving.
So in November we were busy making wedding plans for Ben and Samantha. But there were some very exciting days for us besides making wedding plans and besides Thanksgiving. On the 5th on November Jenna Saville, Amy and David’s youngest daughter was baptized and confirmed. That was a great day. Jenna was so happy to be baptized. We had a family dinner at the church house in Pocatello afterwards for her. She was baptized in Pocatello and not in Saratoga Springs.Utah because they had just moved down there and Jenna wanted to be baptized with her friends in Pocatello. So they came back up for the baptism.

The next day on the 6th of November was Paytin’s , Jared and Sativa’s baby girls blessing day. What a blessing for our family to have both girls special day on the same weekend. Paytin was blessed by her grandpa Egley with her uncle Chet, and uncle David, and uncle Ben and a family friend Dean Ware and the bishop brick standing in. she was told in the blessing that she was a special daughter of God and she came to this earth perfect and just the way Heavenly Father wanted her to. The blessing said she had a great mission to do and that she would be able to accomplish what she chose to and what she needed to accomplish with her Heavenly Fathers help. It said she would be a blessing to her parents and those who came in contact with her. What a special blessing it was. especially since we have been worried about her eye sight. We found out that Paytin has Albinism which means she is missing some of the pigment in the back of her eyes that help her see. Since the blessing we have found out that she will have to were glasses and some therapy to help her. but that's ok because the original Dr. said she was just blind and would never see.

Here is a picture of our two girls together.

After Paytin’s blessing we all came home and Camille and Dean Bytendorp came up and we had a dinner in honor of Paytin and her special day. Thus I neglected to enter a very important addition to our family. It seams I’ve had little time to set and add to my blog these days. Jared came and check in on me and I got to visit with our Audrina and got hugs from her. (Nothing better than loves from grandkids). Mett Ben and Sam at Brady's Plant ranch and got the wedding flowers oredered and they will be beautiful. Alice took all the prep stuff for the Wedding dinner home with her to make and finish up, because she and Matt and Jared and Sativa are setting it up for me. Stacy has a very special part of the Brides outfit made and I am so excited to see it ( A Cape for Sam to ware while she's outside). This wedding is coming together. I am so thankful for my kids who step in and do what ever I need them to do. Oh and Amy has picked up ties gotten flower girl dresses and has called me every day to check on my sanity. Yesterday I was able to take Ben and get all his temple clothes and get him a suit at JCPennys. Had a nice lunch with him as well.
Afterwards A very talented lady and friend colored and cut my hair, Thank you Melinda.
Afterward. I was able to do some Santa shopping for my dear sister who is unable to get it done. On the way home I stopped and dropped off the Santa Stuff and Visited with Marilyenn and David and their family. The family is hanging in there and being very stong. Marilyenn is a very stong women for her family concidering every day her sweet husband is slipping away to go on to the next world. We will miss Dave a great deal. With all the things that are going on right now. I am so thankful for my kids who keep a close eye on me and help when ever they can. I have a awesome family, and friends.Debie and Grant Egleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908414583161578397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868849925712714514.post-45774725113218167172011-12-12T21:48:00.000-08:002011-12-12T22:19:41.139-08:00BlessedSo for the last month or so i have not been feeling well, I have had strep throat, and sinus infection, at least that's what the Dr thinks has been going on. besides the fact that I have not been sleeping because my mind wont shut down. my head hits the pillow and my brain goes into high gear. I have been stressed out with wedding arrangements for Ben and Sam, you know a mother always worries about every little detail at least I do. and I am sad because we are losing my dear brother in law David Miles who is dyeing of colon cancer and liver cancer, and his time is becoming very short. etc etc etc. But then on the way home from town today I was listening to a favorite CD and the first song that came on was one with the lyrics that went like this.( I am blessed, every day of my life I am blessed. All I need he's given me, I am blessed. There's no doubt Heaven watches ...over me there's no doubt, through thick and thin I trust in him there's no doubt. I'll be faithful, I'll be faithful, faithful as the rising sun and steady northern star, constant and true to his name, like an ocean wave pushing through until it reaches shore, day after day I will remain, faithful. and so on.) And I started thinking. I am blessed, life is stressful. but I haven't been left alone in my struggles, I have a Dr who can make me better. Thank you Dr.Scott Malm A friend who let me unload my worries and frustrations on her. Thank you Melinda Saville. I am gaining a beautiful daughter, Samantha Doney, and I have good and honorable children, who, for the most part help with what ever I ask of them. And even though I am going to have to say good by to my dear brother in law for a while. and watch my sweet sister suffer this lose At least we had him in our lives and he has influenced us for good. I have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life, I know where I came from before this life and I know where we all will be after this life. I have family and friends who love me in this world and in the world to come. and I have my Savior to give me strength and peace. I have sweet sisters in this gospel who I serve with who cut me a lot slack and give me the time away from my callings to do what is needed for my family. And I have a husband who works hard to take care of our family's needs and calls and checks on me to be sure I am making it home safe from town, because he knows I am not feeling well and am feeling like I am about to pop a cork. For all of you, I truly, AM BLESSED.Debie and Grant Egleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908414583161578397noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868849925712714514.post-58391869343319472642011-09-23T15:37:00.001-07:002011-09-23T15:42:02.990-07:00A day for my brother and my grandsons
Today started out with me watching little Bryan while Mathew and Alice went Elk Hunting, He is such a good baby to watch. we played together and he gave his grandma some very cute giggles. Then this afternoon after Matt and Alice got back I took some flowers up to the grave yard to put on Gabriel's grave for his mom and dad that Amy had put together but didn’t get time to come to Lava and put them on his grave herself. she did a very good job arranging them and they always brighten his grave when we put new flowers on it. I also put some fall leaves on Grant and JaLain’s graves while I was up there. so now the graves look nice for the fall.

After I left the Lava Cemetery I went to the McCammon (Norton Cemetery) to meat Melissa & Kenny and Shannon and Cody and their families. Gary’s headstone was delivered today so I met them there when it was placed. It is a beautiful Headstone, Gary would be honored to have such a headstone. and most importantly it is a place that the kids can come and feel close to him. It truly represents Gary and the things he loved and is a beautiful monument to him.

It has the Navy and the Army seal on it because he served in both the Navy and the Army He joined the Navy after Collage and then later after he was released from the Navy and had started a family he joined the Army. We left early that morning and drove until we reached Salina Kansas at about 2am where we stopped and slept for a few hours. We then got up and headed for Oklahoma City where we met Sam’s mom and stepdad who were working there. Sam hadn’t seen her mom since June so we stopped and had lunch with them. They had been traveling with his work for the summer.

After we left there it was only a 2hr drive to Lawton Oklahoma. We arrived in the early afternoon so we checked in and then got our bearings around town. We found the eating places, the maul, the some museums, and we found the graduation hall. They used the McMahon hall which is right next to the great plains museum and as we drove into the parking lot look what we found.

They were just lining up from practicing their graduation. Sam and I wanted Grant to drive next to the buses but he wouldn’t for fear of getting Ben in trouble. We argued that he would only get in trouble if he came to talk to us and we knew he wouldn’t do that and we just wanted to try and see him. But it was a no go, Grant kept his distance. But Ben did see us, so he knew we were there just for him. So we went over to the museum but they were just about to lock up, but we got their times of business for the next day. and then we walked around out side and watched their prairie dogs at their prairie dog park. it’s a park devoted to the little prairie dogs that live on the plains. Oklahoma is not that great looking around Lawton, and there are many fires going on around Lawton and down into Texas.

Ben and Sam enjoyed being together.

After we left Scott Mt. we went to the museum and looked at things there. Ben insisted on paying for a nice dinner at Texas Road House which was very nice of him. But the next day We insisted on paying for everything. The next day was Graduation, It started at 11 am and was awesome. Ben graduated 2nd in his class with high honors. He was also the Platoon Guide which carries a lot of responsibility. He had stayed up most of the night making sure his platoon was packed, uniforms were spotless, and the bay was clean for the next group so he was working very hard to stay awake during the graduation ceremonies.

Capitan Smith and Ben. We drove to a little town 30 miles out of Lawton and went antiques shopping. Ben Sam and I love antiques. Grant tolerated it. I have never gone Huckleberry picking but love Huckleberry milk shakes so I said you betcha. It was a very nice morning out with my Mathew, Alice and little Bryan, and Alice’s mom Kay Lee. We went up 8 mile canyon and they showed me what a Huckleberry was. I had never seen one before, at least not that I new what it was. So i was very excited to finally learn what a Huckleberry was. and How to find them. now I can go picking again and I will know what I am looking for. Of course I took my camera with me and Mathew and I had fun using it to remember the occasion. I love this camera. And Huckleberries. And Matt and Alice and Bryan.

<img style="border-bottom: 0px; So Katie, Madison and I watched Harry Potter. Then Chet and Stacy came up and then Matt and Alice came over. Jared had been helping his dad all day hauling hay bails down from Potters. so they quit about the time all the kids got here. Matt had a buyer coming to look at the horse’s ( But they never showed) Anyway. The kids had something up their sleeves. I knew Chet and Amy had something going on but I didn’t know what. It turns out that Chet had been trying to figure out how to find me a new DSLR camera and have enough money to pay for it. Well I had found that Mark had made some post cards out of our photos that we sold to him and our agreement was that he would pay us $50.00 per photo that was used in post cards, so we had $400.00 coming to us. so I let Chet know. so he got his siblings and dad together and they bought me a really nice new EOS Rebel T2i with two image stabilizing lens's some filters, a nice san disk, and a camera bag. it is just what I have been wanting for a long while. It has lot’s of things that I need to learn but I will have so much fun learning it. and now I don’t have to worry about film next time I am hired to take photos for someone. So now I feel like I can advertise again. Awesome!!!!!!!!!

Here are some pic’s that I took before I got the new camera, but Justin got to play in the water with his cousins. and Clay and Bryan got to try the water as well. So they came home with me on Thursday night. Thursday we spent a quiet evening just playing around the farm, the kids played Twister, and then found Uncle Bens laser guns, so they spent a great deal of the evening outside playing laser tag. I also took them up to the stack yard and let them play on the hay bails, it must have been fun because they want to go play there again tomorrow. here are pictures of last nights activities

<img style="border-bottom: 0px; We had a nice visit on the way up and back, and It was soooo nice being in the Temple. I feel refreshed. Then I came home and put up 30, 1/2 pint bottles of raspberries for Grant to take in his lunches this winter.

Yesterday I stopped by the hot baths to see if they had any new post card yet. and they did. it’s kind of fun seeing yours and your son’s photography on professional post cards. We did the photography for the Hot Baths and Swimming Pool for the last couple of years. our photo’s are also on the pamphlets they hand out, and the billboard when you are coming from Pocatello. I think that is Pretty Cool.

Chet took most of the total number of pictures, I did the business end of things. After that I weeded the flower beds, did the dishes and then I went swimming. Amy brought the kids out to go swimming today and her sister in law and our friend Malinda came with her and brought her son Josh. I called Alice and Sativa and invited them. Sativa didn’t feel like going but Alice did. It was a fun day playing with the kids and visiting with great women. Little Bryan got to go swimming for the first time today. and I think after he got used to the water he liked it. I bought him a cute float tube so he could just sit back and relax and enjoy the water.

I think all the kids had fun, and I learned that I could still do a handstand and a front flip under the water, I guess that’s not bad for being 51 years old. I taught Katie and Madison how to do the side stroke, and was throwing Katie off my shoulders when I came up out of the water. So it was a pretty fun day. Then after we were done at the pool we went to Fat Jakes and had Milk Shakes. MMMMMM Huckleberry Milkshakes.Yummy Yummy Yummy. Ben will be envious when I send him the pictures. he loves Huckleberry Milkshakes as much as I do.

This bottom one is for Ben. We went up to Copenhagen campground at the top of Strawberry, close to Preston Idaho. We left Friday evening after I went and picked up Amy and Davids kids and after Grant helped Jared move the pipe. Amy and David didn’t want to go camping and get all their camping gear out of storage. so I just took the kids with us. Justin was looking forward to camping with his cousins and would have been board with just us adults. Plus Camping is a great way to make memories with your grandkids.Jared and Sativa didn’t come up until Saturday either and neither did Matt and Alice. but we almost had the whole family there on Saturday, the only two who were missing were Audrina, because she was spending the week with her biological dad and Ben, he is at Basic Training in Oklahoma, we missed them both. We got up there in pretty good time. and got our camper set up. Stacy had Dutch oven potatoes and hamburgers and hot dogs and chips for dinner that night and she took care of breakfast the next morning. we did lunch’s together and then I took care of Dinner on Saturday night. We had potato salad and Dutch Oven fried Chicken and baked beans. and chips. We also had plenty of marshmallows and cookies and candy and pop for everyone to munch on. Isaac really liked the marshmallows. I think he was having to much fun with them, but he was fun to watch enjoy those big marshmallows. Katie loved driving her uncles and grandpa’s 4 wheelers. and giving rides to the younger kids. Madison, Justin, Jenna and Isaac just loved playing our in the weeds and trees I wish Audrina had been there she would have loved playing with her cousins. We all had fun wadding in the creek that was just down the road. On Saturday morning Chet and Grant went for a 4 hr ride up into Copenhagen basin. On Saturday just before we ate dinner Matt and Chet were playing around with their 4 wheelers riding over a log that was laying down in camp. Chet got high centered on it the first time he went over it. so of course Matt had to go over it, he kind of just hopped over it. and I was getting pictures of them playing and I didn’t get a picture of Chet going over it. So I suggested that he do it again. but this time he tried to hope over it like Matt did. But his 4 wheeler isn't as tall as Matt's and it wheelied over backwards. Chet came off it and hit his head on the log, It knocked him out for just a few seconds and then he was saying he was ok. But he wasn’t ok, later, on Monday he found out he had a bad concussion. so he was off work for a day or so. I won’t ask him for a second chance at a picture again if he’s on his 4 wheeler. Sunday morning we were going to just get up and break camp and go home because we knew Ben would be calling sometime and we didn’t want to miss his call. but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Just after we all got up little Clayton went into a seizure and Chet and Stacy made a mad dash for the ER in Preston, so Grant and I and Justin stayed in camp with all the stuff . Chet came back up around 2pm and loaded all his stuff up and we loaded all our stuff up but by that time we had missed Bens call. It broke my heart. I so wanted to talk to him, but it couldn’t be helped. And I found out that we will probably get to talk to him this Sunday and every Sunday until graduation. Provided know one messes up at basic. Ben did get to talk to Amy and Jared and Stacy though. So that was good. He has been made a Platoon Guide, and he has a calling in his branch at church. he is the Assistant Group Mission Leader. Both are awesome. So now that I have told all about the camping trip here are some pictures of it.

View Full Album

Oh and I should explain the bloody toe in the pictures. and the purple and blue and pink ankle. The toe belongs to Sativa, she had part of her toenail removed on Friday so she was not feeling that great. and the ankle belonged to Grant. On Saturday morning he stepped out of the camper and a rock rolled under his foot and he sprained his ankle really bad. So that explains those two pictures.
Debie and Grant Egleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908414583161578397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868849925712714514.post-40054260843538278152011-07-28T18:01:00.001-07:002011-07-28T18:01:54.603-07:00Missing Ben

It seams that when your a young mother with many children in the house its kayos most of the time. But as time goes on and as each child leaves home, a part of your heart goes with them. you pray for their safety, their happiness, you pray they will learn the lessons that they need to know, that you could not teach them while they were living at home. The lessons that only living life can teach them. And you pray that they will remember the basics that you have taught them so they can make it through those life lessons somewhat unscathed and that they will keep with them always, the love, morals & integrity that you’ve tried so hard to teach them in their youth.

All of my older children have done pretty well for themselves. each has made mistakes and each has had great success at times. Some times we’ve had to help them out with money or going and getting them out of a predicament they’ve gotten themselves into. Or just helped them when life has become so overwhelming that it takes all of us to get through it. Now it’s my youngest child's turn, And after having 4 others move out and get on with life. I have learned a few things. One; mom can’t fix everything, Two; mom shouldn’t fix everything, they never learn the lessons they need to learn if I do. Three'; it doesn’t matter which child it is that has moved out,you will always worry about them. Four; it doesn’t matter how old they are you still worry about them at times.

But now it’s my youngest, he has chosen a different path all together than his siblings. He is a Army National Guardsmen and he is at Basic Training right now at FT Sill Oklahoma. I know he is well taken care of. and I know that he knows how to obey his commanding officers so he shouldn’t get in much trouble, I know he is safe for now. I also know he is away from home, in a foreign atmosphere, working his heart out learning to be a solder. I know he misses home, his family, his girl friend and all the things that are familiar to him. So I worry. I pray every day that God helps him through the day. And then I pray every night that God watches over him at night, that he doesn’t feel alone, that he knows that in my heart I am right there with him. lending him my strength, my faith, and anything else he may need at any given moment. That’s what a mother does. But most of all I am trusting him to our Heavenly Father. I can’t be there to watch over him, but God can, I can’t give him strength, but God can, I can’t pick him up when he’s down, but God can. I know I can trust each of my kids to God and he can work miracles in their lives. And that is how I get through each day letting my children leave the nest and make their own way in the world.

I miss you Ben. Last week was a good week. My oldest nephew Bradley and his family came to lave to spend the week, visit with family and go to the pool and float the river. So on Monday I put together a little family reunion, we haven’t seen Brad since his Brother David’s funeral. As of lately we have been keeping in touch through Face Book. but it’s just not the same as sitting down and visiting with someone. So on Monday all the family was invited to come up to the house and have a picnic of sorts. I made mom’s fried chicken, and I also made barbecued chicken, and a Large chocolate cake. I asked everyone else to bring some kind of salad or desert. oh and I made my homemade dinner rolls . Needless to say we had plenty of food. About half the family was able to come, Marilyenn & David and 3 of their kids with families made it, all of my kids were here except for Matt who had to work and Ben who is at Basic Training right now. Alan & Judy were here,Kathy’s Brian came and brought his boy Kaydin, and Brad and Debbie were here with their three boys. Kathy came up the night before and spent the night with us and helped me with the chicken and made some deserts , Kathy and I also had time to go for a ride up over the canyon and then over to Grace to a antique shop that’s over there. I think she loved the ride, she had me stop several times so she could take pictures over by the Beaver Dam RD. That evening we had a nice family visit and took some pictures of the event. I am so glad I have a large yard to be able to bring the family together. and the energy to do it. We missed Gary's kids, Shannon , Shane and Melissa and their families and of course we missed Gary. but all through that day I had the strongest feeling that Mom and Dad and Gary , Drew and Gabe were there with us. there were times I felt their spirits so close to me. especially Mom and Daddy. I think they were very pleased.

View Full Album

Gabriel’s Angelversery

On Tuesday it was the 1st angelversery for our little Gabie who we miss so much. so Amy and David planed a family picnic for their family up by his headstone at the cemetery, and then asked if anyone of the rest of the family would like to join them for a balloon launch with messages to Gabe. so I and Stacy and the boys and Malinda Saville and her kids and Gary and Colleen Saville all went up to the cemetery and wrote notes to Gabe on balloons and then let them go. I was a little worried about Amy and David and how they would handle this day, but they did great. So here are the pictures of Gabie’s day. Love and miss you Gabriel Grant Saville.

View Full Album

Wednesday was a calm morning I was so tired from the previous days that I slept in. then got up and headed for the Family History Center since that was my day to be there and help other people with their family history, but I had the strongest thought that I was not going where i should be going, the thought said. Your nephew is in the campground in Lave and that’s where you should be. so I went to the Family History Center gave my workers the keys and left. I spent the rest of that afternoon with Brad and his Family laughing talking and taking pictures of them tubing. it was fun and I felt so good about spending that time with them. I am so grateful for the whisperings of the spirit to guide and direct me. It was like Heavenly Father was giving me the day off to spend it with my family. Then Thursday Brad and Debbie left and headed for bear lake. and I, Well Thursday and Friday I pretty much just vegged out. which was ok . because it had been a busy week.
Debie and Grant Egleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908414583161578397noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8868849925712714514.post-37673092752482160132011-07-19T18:24:00.001-07:002011-07-19T18:24:04.600-07:00The 4th of July and our anniversary on the 7th of July.

Just didn’t want to leave these two important dates out, so on the 4th of July we worked in the fields and in the yard together, and went for a small 4 wheeler ride. on the 7th, our anniversary, Grant went to work as usual. I stayed home and worked around the house and yard as usual and then we went to dinner at the Chuck wagon cafe. Then we came home and went to bed. you know, sometimes it nice not to make a big dill out of every holiday. sometimes it’s just nice being together working or just sitting in the quiet watching a TV show. Does that sound old. well then I guess we’re old.
Debie and Grant Egleyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03908414583161578397noreply@blogger.com0
